Eric Yuan
Eric Yuan is a Chinese American entrepreneur and the founder of Zoom Video Communications. Born in Shandong Province, China, in 1970, Yuan developed an early interest in computer science which led him to pursue a master’s degree in engineering at China University of Mining and Technology. Inspired by Bill Gates’ speeches in the 1990s, Yuan immigrated to the United States in 1997 to be part of the tech boom.
Before founding Zoom, Yuan spent over a decade working at WebEx, a video conferencing company, where he climbed the ranks to become Vice President of Engineering. WebEx was acquired by Cisco in 2007, and Yuan continued his work there until 2011. Frustrated by the limitations and inefficiencies he saw in existing video conferencing software, Yuan decided to build a more user-friendly and reliable platform.
In 2011, Yuan founded Zoom, aiming to create a seamless, easy-to-use video communication tool. Despite initial skepticism from investors and competitors, his vision paid off: Zoom’s simple platform, high-quality video, and scalability quickly garnered a substantial user base. The platform saw exponential growth during the COVID-19 pandemic as remote work and virtual meetings became the norm.
Yuan’s leadership and focus on customer satisfaction have been key to Zoom’s success. His emphasis on a company culture of happiness and productivity resonated with users globally. Yuan’s journey from an aspiring engineer in China to the founder of a global tech giant is a testament to his resilience, vision, and dedication to innovation.

John Tarantino
Ranked as one of the top lawyers in the United States, John Tarantino has focused his career on excellence for over 42 years.
In December 2020, John took on a new challenge as Managing Trustee of the Papitto Opportunity Connection (POC), a private foundation devoted to helping disadvantaged and underprivileged communities in Rhode Island. Under his leadership, POC has given more than 400 grants, scholarships, and donations totaling $78 million.
John’s life changed forever when his wife of almost 45 years, Pat, was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer, and she passed after a courageous battle against the disease. Before her death, John and Pat decided to donate proceedings from the substantial life insurance proceeds on Pat’s life, along with the sale of their beautiful home of 33 years, to cancer research so that others would not suffer as she had.
In May 2023, John delivered his TEDx talk “Redemption Stories”. This talk went viral and became the number-one TEDx talk in the world in 2023. It now has more than 22 million views.
In June 2023, John decided to use his unique skillsets to commit further to improving cancer care and treatment for patients around the world and began serving as CEO of Iylon Precision Oncology LLC, a global oncology company. He also established The John and Pat Tarantino Charitable Foundation, which has donated and generated substantial funds for cancer research at the Legorreta Cancer Center and Lifespan Cancer Center.
John’s goal in life now is both simple and compelling: to live long enough to see a cure for cancer. Those who know John best would not bet against him.

Ali Ingersoll
Ali Ingersoll is a Corporate Disability Inclusion Consultant, Ms. Wheelchair America 2023, keynote public speaker, TEDx Speaker, writer, financial assets trader, and fierce healthcare equity disability advocate.
At the young age of 27, Ali’s life took an unexpected turn when a tragic accident left her a C6 quadriplegic, paralyzed from the chest down. While she grappled with feelings of hopelessness through 7 years in and out of hospitals, she was convinced her life had reached its end. However, through her journey, a new self-discovery sparked within where she learned how to shift her thinking and navigate her physical limitations in a new light. Giselle Carr
Giselle is a Design Strategist who is passionate about the business impact of design in solving one of humanity’s biggest challenges – climate change. For two decades, she has worked at the intersection of design, marketing and brand strategy, creating social, environmental and economic value for a variety of brands across the world.
In 2023, she invited others to consider, “How Can Climate Change Inspire Ingenuity?”. In this TEDx talk, she asks the audience to fall in love with the immensity of climate change, and let the scale of the problem dissolve our mediocrity.
