The musician channeled the hosting nation during her set’s ‘1989’ portion.
Vibrant Irish Tribute
Taylor Swift, the renowned singer-songwriter, showcased her Irish pride during the inaugural stop of her Eras Tour at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on Friday, June 28.
Swift, 34, captivated the audience with an outfit that mirrored the colors of the Irish flag. She wore a bejeweled orange cropped top paired with a shimmery ombre green skirt while performing the 1989 portion of her set, singing fan-favorite hits like “Blank Space,” “Shake It Off,” and “Bad Blood.”
Playful Local Shoutouts
Adding to the excitement, Swift’s backup dancer Kameron Saunders delivered a playful nod to the host country. During the performance of “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” from her Red album, Saunders humorously shouted “póg mo thóin,” an Irish phrase that translates to “kiss my ass.”
This moment delighted fans as Saunders is known for incorporating local languages into his shoutouts, a practice he adapted during Swift’s recent shows in Liverpool, England.

Swift thrilled her Dublin audience with two new mashups as part of the surprise songs segment of her tour. The first was a blend of “State of Grace” from Red and “You’re On Your Own Kid” from Midnights.
The second mashup combined “Sweet Nothing” from Midnights with “Hoax” from Folklore, showcasing her versatility and creative arrangements.
Tribute to Travis Kelce
Toward the end of her show, Swift paid a special tribute to her boyfriend, NFL star Travis Kelce.
During her performance of “Midnight Rain” from her Midnights album, she struck Kelce’s signature archer pose. As she sang, “And he never thinks of me, except when I’m on TV,” Swift playfully smiled, engaging the crowd with this personal touch.
She had previously made this move while performing The Tortured Poet Department’s “So High School,” a song speculated to reference her romance with Kelce.
Continuing the Dublin Magic
Swift’s Eras Tour in Dublin continues with performances on Saturday, June 29, and Sunday, June 30, promising more unforgettable moments for her Irish fans.
